Lavender affair

Limelight Floral Design

I am going to share with you another fabulous wedding we have designed this past month. The colors of the affair have been an elegant lavender and silver, which I have approached with roses and lisianthus, in order to create centerpieces that were both modern and bountiful.

Guests were seated outside, on the 1st floor of the Hyatt Regency with ceremony facing the New York landscape. Large white and green natural looking arrangements flanked the ceremony site.

Lavender and silver centerpieces of Cool Water roses, purple Lisianthus and fragrant freesias were placed on tables.

This is a new lavender rose that I have discovered. It coes straight from Holland and is very unique due to it's white stripes. I also love its apperture and sturdiness.

We were delighted to work with the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Jersey City. It is always a pleasure to design wedding flowers in Jersey City and we are happy to let everyone know that we will participate in the Bridal Show that is to take place at the Hyatt Regency on August 20th.
Hyatt Regency is located downtown Jersey City, offering fantastic views of Manhattan. It is perfect for a candle lit romantic wedding which will leave your guests talking about for years.

An Enchated Forest Wedding

One of the greatest June weddings that we have done is by no means the Crystal Springs, in Hamburg, New Jersey. After being on location for more that 4 hours, I have secretly decided that one day, when I retire, this place should be one of my choices.
Crystal Springs is one of the most amazing locations that we have worked in this year.
But back to the wedding. An amazing wedding I must add. The main vision of the design was to transform the large, elegant ball room into a dreamy, enchanted forest with tall centerpieces and glimmering lights as well as heavy, pillar candles at the table level.
The bride wore a gorgeous modern bouquet of white ranunculus.

We use these wonderful local Mock Orange branches to give hight and body to the centerpieces. By the end of the day, when guests walked in, the room was a wonderful scene, delightful for the smelling and visual pleasure with gracious Mock Orange smell and enchanting candle light.

We sincerely congratulate the bride and groom as well as their wonderful family. It was a joy working on this wedding and we will return to Hamburg with great pleasure.

A Beautiful Country Affair

This weekend we had the pleasure of decorating a beautiful wedding set in the countryside-like environment of the Grain House Restaurant in Basking Ridge. The colors: yellow, purple and brown.
After dodging the rain throught some kind of devine intervention, we prepared a gardeny ceremony around the Gazebo set behind the restaurant. We decorated the gazebo with a huge arrangement of greens, snap dragons, phlox and daisies. A swag of greens and intermingled daisies led the bride to the altar, while guest waited on the couple with cones filled with petals for throwing.

Ask a Question

Confused about colors, flowers, seasons, vases, ribbons, costs or who knows what?

Ask a question and I will try my best to answer it. I believe I need a challenge and most importantly, I need to give something back: like my knowledge.

So I will try my best to put together new posts based on answering your important questions. When asking a question, please let me know what state your wedding might take place so I may answer accurately. You may submit your questions as a comment or by sending me an email at info@limelightfloral.com.

Come one, bring it oooon!:)

More Blue Inspirations

I looked into my stats today and noticed that there is one particular article here that attracts hundreds of curious brides: the article “Blue is Back” is indeed one fascinating one. This is why I feel I should come back and add some more recent pictures of blue centerpieces.

Enjoy:

The bouquet features white Akito Roses, white Lisianthus and Blue Gentiana. The pommanders feature white mums with blue ribbons and pins.

Lavender or purple

As more and more weddings this year will be following the jewel fashion of lavenders, purples and wines, it has become a priority for me to be able to define purple and lavender as exactly as possible.

Here is an example of the centerpiece that decorated the tables in last week’s wedding: I call this Lilac flirting with ice blue.

Lilac, Little Blue roses and Blue Bird roses formed this gardeny lavender centerpiece.

It’s been a while

Yes, it has been a while since I’ve come to write in my blog, but baby, I am back and can’t wait to share with you some of the great plans that we are lining up for this year. first of all, I am going to present to you some pictures from two of the weddings we just did this past week.

All the centerpieces have been designed on site and the metal trees have been procured especially for this wedding.

The bridal bouquet was made of beautiful white rannunculus blooms brought all the way from Holland for this special day.

The high end industrial strength of Tribeca Rooftop suits us perfectly, doesn’t it?

It was a Ball

Only a couple of weeks ago we had the honor of providing a couple of floral designs for The Arthouse Productions who have organized the amazing 3rd Annual Snow Ball, here in Jersey City, in the Hamilton Park Building.

This is an event that promotes and sustains the Innovative Theater in Jersey City, hence a noble crowd to associate myself with. And with Mayor Jeremiah Healey donating his Christmas CD, this was a perfect place to be.

This year, we were inspired by feathers, and this is th result of our work. Please allow me to thank www.arthouseproductions.org and Laura DeSantis-Olsson Photography_LDOphoto.net for providing these images.

Spring Thoughts

After meeting with so many brides these past weeks, it is getting quiet and I get to look over what is coming towards us this year in terms of styles.

Here are some of the color and flower trends that we will be working with this year:

1. Strong, Bold and Mixed Flower Palettes : Indeed, this year doesn’t seem to be one of monocolor, monofloral designs. It is the year of texture and complementary colors.

Orange + Electric Pink + Lime, Purple + Magenta + Lime, Orange + Eggplant+ Gold.

2. These are not going to be your usual roses either. Brides are going daring for branches, orchids and carnations. Yes, carnations are coming back with a big Boom and they find their place in large grouping next to royal cymbidiums and phalaenopsis.

3. Colors became luxurious names such as chocolate, mocca, eggplant, gold, copper and velvet.

I trust that this year will be a full of color  and dazzling one just like last year treated us and our designs.
