Things have been moving fast and furious around us and what we thought to be a sweet and calm April and May, has turned into a tornado of flowers, plants and herbs.
We have designed this gorgeous, low key and very nature oriented wedding at the Inn at Millrace Pond in NJ in late April. First of all, the bride has been a delight to work with and her natural concept has swept us off our feet. Not much she asked from us, only plants, purples and a delphinium bouquet. Secondly, This little secret venue in Hope NJ is simply perfect for this kind of wedding, with the river and the bridge, the little stone house and a very relaxed, country side atmosphere.
Here is the bridal bouquet together with one of the bridesmaids’.
The bridal bouquet featured Purple Larkspur and Blue Delphinium and followed the natural linear shape of the flower stem, producing a very unique design shape. The groom’s boutonniere was uniquely gardenny with lavender and larkspur as well as a touch of rosemary.
Bridesmaids held leafy and intense garden bouquets of Teddy bear Mums, freesias and roses on a base of rosemary and fresh Larkspur buds.
Ceremony was held outside the stone house at the Inn at Millrace Pond and was decorated with light touches of larkspur, field flowers and a free style, home grown arch of Cherry Blossoms. How fun and nonpretentious!
Oh, and then the centerpieces for the guest tables were head turning, I say thee, head turning! Rosemary, Lavender, Mint, Thyme and Sage, all very romantic herbs, adorned each table. And what impressed us and greatly endeared us, where the table number signs, personally put together and sewn with love and lots of TLC by the Bride herself. How much more can you personalize a wedding table!?
