After waking up at 4.00 AM this morning and making sure to be at the Flower Market in New York early enough to benefit from the best and freshest selection, 9.00 AM found me waiting in front of the door for the overnight FedEX delivery of roses from Colombia.

Two hours later, orchids, snapdragons and freesias were going back to rest in the cooler, while 400 roses lined themselves up to drink water and suck up the sun. By tomorrow, after 24 hours of complete hydration and perfectly balanced sun drenching, these roses will have reached maturity and perfect aperture to come together in lush and crisp centerpieces and bouquets.

As you can notice, the colors of this wedding are already generally outlined. Tomorrow, the day before the wedding, these flowers will find their purpose in low, feminine arrangements in the Battery Gardens Restaurant for a sunny, morning wedding.
