Mokara Orchids Extravangaza – Mamaroneck Yacht Club, NY

We have been pretty busy these past couple of weeks, as the wedding season came upon us in all it’s glory and hectic, yet organized insanity.

So I thought it would be really cute to share with you a couple of pictures from our last week’s wedding which took place at the Mamaroneck Yacht Club in New York state. And yes, the answer is that we do travel that far to deliver our weddings and we feel indeed very honored to be chosen to do so. I am always amazed as we drive by a florist shop on our way to deliver flowers in Mamaroneck, Throggs Neck and Tarrytown. I am amazed that our brides travel so far to reach us and ask for our talent when they could simply go in their back yard florist and get some flowers. I guess the honor comes from being recognized as a talent that one would travel far for.

Here is our wedding in Mamaroneck: White, simple traditional church ceremony followed by  lavish compotieres bursting with salmon Mokara orchids for the reception.

We loved working these compotieres with salmon mokara orchids, cream lisianthus and lime green lady's mantle. The colors are subdued, while the centerpiece, thought its size and texture was striking.

Here is another image of the complexity of textures that were happening inside these compotieres.

Each pew was decorated with a cute white paper cone holding roses and Lisianthus. The Altar received a large arrangement of 30 tall gladiolas. Simple and festive. Picture by Kelly Vasami.
