This month we designed a very pretty and sassy wedding at our old beloved Inn at Millrace Pond in Hope NJ. And as usual, we loved, loved, loved working in this idyllic, picturesque faraway spot of New Jersey.
Here are some pictures of the wedding, dreams and bucolic spirit of Ashley, the Hope Bride.
Ceremony: Now that was simple: arch, shepherds hooks, mason jars and all the cuteness of autumn. We prepared a local, extremely local arch of leaves, green and red, all natural wonder of the autumn. shepherds hooks along the aisle and multicolor field flowers in antique blue mason jars.
The reception was sweet and very inspirational, with 1960s books, antique blue mason jars and collectable apothecary bottles holding an array of crazy, freshly picked farm flowers from local farms in NJ. Everything was so very local when it came to flowers for this wedding!
When it came to bridal and bridemaids bouquets, let’s just say that we went with texture, a lot of gorgeous texture, from prickly thistle to velvety Lamb’s ears, superb orange roses and wax flowers. I must admit that this entire array of textures is not something that we allow ourselves all that often, but this was a farmhouse wedding, and everything is permitted at such a decadent occasion.
And finally, here are some professional pictures from Kamila Harris Photography, which pretty much left me speechless. What a refined, urban interpretation of our little farmhouse fandango. And sassy too:)
